Location – Based in Whetstone, Leicester (LE8 6NU) – Hybrid Working, with regular visits to Frankley (B45)
Base Materials Ltd are a chemical engineering business across 2 sites (Whetstone & Frankley) with its core activities being the manufacture of styling, modelling and tooling materials for the production of high-quality precision moulds, master models, jigs & fixtures, across a diverse range of applications and industries including automotive, aerospace, motor sport, marine and varied industrial application.
As part of our ongoing Growth Plan, we are seeking to broaden our internal expertise with a newly scoped HR Officer role including primary recruitment responsibility. Our business is experiencing a period of sustained growth and consequently our recruitment activities are ever increasing, as is our need for generalist HR support. We therefore need someone to take full ownership of recruitment processes from initial scoping through to offer negotiations and pre-employment checks. The successful candidate will work closely with hiring managers, the Marketing team and HR to ensure our talent acquisition processes are robust and effective, ultimately enabling us to continue to build a capable, high-performing team.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a genuine passion for working with people. This role will suit someone looking for variety in a dynamic environment and opportunities for professional development and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates
2. Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers to understand their needs and ensure a smooth recruitment process
4. Manage the candidate experience, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all candidates
5. Provide HR support and guidance to employees on a variety of HR-related topics
6. Support HR Business Partners (HRBPs) with HR-related activities and administrative tasks, as needed
7. Keep up to date with latest recruitment trends and technology, and continuously improve processes
8. Ensure that recruitment processes and policies remain compliant with UK employment legislation
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or CIPD level 5 qualified min
2. Previous experience in a similar role
3. Strong knowledge of employment law
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Passion for building relationships and providing exceptional customer service
Additional Skills Required:
1. Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
2. Experience with social media recruiting
3. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
4. Experience conducting right to work checks
5. Use of online job platforms and CV Searching tools/platforms
6. Experience within a manufacturing or similar SME business
7. Experience using HRIS (ours is PeopleHR so knowledge of this would be highly advantageous)
