Duties will include:
1. To open up and close the surgery as appropriate.
2. To provide, as the first point of contact with the surgery, a welcoming and caring atmosphere and environment for patients and visitors.
3. To operate an efficient, effective and appropriate appointment system to facilitate patient access.
4. To handle telephone and personal calls, messages and enquiries, giving advice and guidance as appropriate and in accordance with practice guidelines.
5. To operate the administration systems in accordance with practice procedures.
6. Promote patient use of the self check-in, on-line services (via practice website) and the patient reference group.
7. Promote practice clinical services.
8. To ensure good communications and the efficient flow of information between the practice teams.
9. To follow administrative procedures for patient registration and removal, quality and outcomes service, targets and private health work.
10. Using the computer to record patient data (e.g. personal, immunisations, test results, health promotion, and drugs).
