Job summary Bank Waste Porter A Bank Waste Porter collects waste from all areas within the Hospital. Waste collections include Confidential Waste, Hazardous Waste and Clinical Waste. For this role you will require a full UK Driving Licence. It is a physically demanding role which will include lots of walking and repeated lifting and pushing of heavy loads. Main duties of the job To segregate and dispose of household, confidential, hazardous and clinical waste in accordance with Trust Policy The removal and safe storage of chemicals and specialist materials To ensure appropriate contractors are available at all times, to maintain quality and delivery of service To operate the Tugs in accordance with Trust procedures To maintain and clean tugs and waste collection container To maintain equipment used in course of dutie To ensure that appropriate access to the waste hold/compounds is available at all times for waste contractors in order to maintain quality and delivery of service To provide ad-hoc cover for the Grounds Person To provide ad-hoc cover to help maintain a Portering service in all patient, public and staff area About us Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond.
