The vacancy Join Bromford's finance team as an assistant accountant and play a key role in delivering an efficient and high-quality accounting service. This is an excellent opportunity to develop professionally in a supportive and evolving finance team, contributing to continuous improvement and smarter ways of working. You'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of core accounting processes within agreed timelines. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, consistency, and efficiency in financial operations. The role will involve various aspects of accounting, including intercompany transactions, accruals, prepayments, insurance accounting, housing fixed assets, VAT and CIS analysis, and supplier verification checks. You will also contribute to monthly period-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, cost apportionments, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies and timetables. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in a shared service environment or a similar finance role, with a strong understanding of service level agreements and financial compliance. You should be confident in communicating with finance and non-finance stakeholders, adaptable to change, and proactive in driving continuous improvement. A part-qualified accountant or someone currently studying towards a recognised qualification (or equivalent experience) would be a great fit. This role is permanent and full time. You will be based from our main office in Wolverhampton with regular home working available. A basic DBS and consumer check are required.
