About Us
Chester is a well-known historical city in the Northwest of England, renowned for its Roman city walls and two-tier shopping streets. It offers the best of both worlds: a bustling city centre surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is also less than an hour from both Liverpool and Manchester. The practice itself is located on the outskirts of the city centre to the north and is easily accessible via local transport routes.
The team currently comprises 7 vets, 5 RVNs, 2 SVNs, and 3 receptionists, all led by our practice manager. Within the clinical team, we have a variety of interests, which would allow you to join the practice and gain a wealth of knowledge not available at other practices. Our caseload is varied, with a high proportion of insured pets and proactive clients.
As a team, we enjoy socialising outside of work, whether through sporting or charity events, dog walks, conquering escape rooms, or just drinks in the pub, which helps strengthen the togetherness of the team.
About you
Our ideal new nurse will want to be part of a proactive and forward-thinking team, offering high levels of first opinion care to our lovely patients. An individual who enjoys and understands the importance of client-nurse bond and feels comfortable assisting our vets in treating our patients as we would all expect our own pets to be looked after.
Confidence and enthusiasm are the key skills we are looking for!
About the role
* The job is built around the person and the business needs.
* On that note, we can be flexible on weekly hours.
* Guaranteed protected lunch breaks.
* Heavily managed diary means time is allocated for various daily tasks to keep things running smoothly and provide a calmer environment - and also leave on time.
* Genuinely lovely team; we are very professional but also have lots of fun and have each other’s backs.
* JVP’s who have your welfare and best interests at heart and will listen to you.
* Scope for tailoring aspects of the RVN role towards your particular interests. We run RVN consults, in-patient shifts and operating shifts (monitoring anaesthetics and assisting with surgeries).
We have an excellent reputation locally; we are proud of our practice and look forward to welcoming the next team member to keep that ethos growing.
