We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive nursery and primary school in Coventry. The school caters to children from ages 2 to 11 and is committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive. Rated ' Good' in their most recent Ofsted inspection, the school is looking for someone with a strong background in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) support to join their team on a full-time, ongoing basis. Key Responsibilities: Support children with SEND in the nursery and primary settings, providing tailored assistance to meet their individual needs. Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans, helping children with tasks, communication, and social skills. Use Makaton to support communication and engage with children who may have language or communication difficulties. Provide support for children with ASD, adapting your approach to ensure they can participate in learning activities. Work closely with teachers and other professionals to track progress and contribute to planning and assessments. Assist in creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all students. Foster positive relationships with children, staff, and parents, ensuring open communication and collaboration. Strong knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children to help them achieve their best. A positive, proactive approach to supporting children with special needs in both small group and one-to-one settings. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. A relevant qualification in supporting children with SEND (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable.
