Job Title
Activities Co-ordinator - 24-34 hours (during week and every other weekend)

Accountable To
The Service Manager and the Owners
Reporting To
The Service Manager or Senior Activities Co-ordinator
Job Purpose
Responsible for the activities for the residents. To work in close liaison with all members of staff.
Key Tasks
* To understand the residents' needs in choice of activities
* To decide on the activities for the month and make an agenda for the residents' notice board
* To ensure that there is a variety of activities that the residents can participate in depending on their disabilities
* If residents cannot or do not wish to participate as part of a group, then they are to be offered individual sessions
* To purchase small suitable prizes for some of the activities such as the quizzes
* To ensure that regular resident and family meetings are scheduled, liaising with the Matron / Manager
* Attend residents and family meetings, taking minutes and distributing minutes as required
* To have a sense of humour and to be flexible
* Maintain records of activities within our Person Centred Care Plans as necessary
Care of Service Users
1. Assist in the care of all service users through the delivery of individual planned care programmes.
2. Promote independence and dignity of service users
3. Assist in enabling service users to live their chosen lifestyle.
4. Talk to and listen to service users.
5. Participate in social activities directed at benefiting service users' quality of life.
6. Report complaints directly to the nurse in charge as soon as they are made.
Other Duties
1. Undertake such in-house and external training which is appropriate to your role and has been identified through a training needs appraisal.
2. Maintain confidentiality of information at all times.
3. Work within the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Homes’ Quality Management System.
4. Any other such duties as may be from time to time required to ensure the safe running of the home and delivery of appropriate care to service users.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 35 per week
