About the Opportunity
In our Strategic Markets business as part of the Decommissioning and Regeneration Solutions team at Jacobs, based in Birchwood, Warrington, we have a unique opportunity for a Principal Process (Chemical) Engineer. This role is crucial for leading process engineering efforts in our nuclear decommissioning and specialist engineering projects and playing a pivotal role in the development and mentoring of early years career personnel within the engineering department.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design, optimization, and implementation of process engineering solutions for nuclear decommissioning projects, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
2. Serve as a technical expert in process engineering, providing guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.
3. Develop and oversee training initiatives for early years career engineers, focusing on technical skills, project management, and professional development.
4. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the process engineering team.
5. Collaborate with Specialist Engineering leadership team to identify talent development needs and opportunities.
6. Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to early/mid career engineers.
7. Participate in recruitment activities, helping to attract top talent to the engineering team.
8. Ensure that process engineering projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
9. Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends in process engineering and nuclear decommissioning.
Here's What You'll Need:
10. Extensive experience in process or chemical engineering, with a proven track record in nuclear decommissioning or a related field.
11. Proficiency in process simulation and design software.
12. A commitment to nurturing the development of early career engineers and contributing to their career growth.
13. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
14. Ability to manage complex engineering projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
15. Relevant engineering degree (or equivalent) and professional qualifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer status).
