Bedales School is a unique educational establishment, set in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. We are looking for new members with excellent cleaning skills to join our highly dedicated Domestic Cleaning Team delivering outstanding cleaning services for our staff and pupils in and around the school.
Experience & Background
The successful candidate will need to be a reliable and capable individual, who can use their own initiative, as well as work as part of a team. Experience of cleaning in a commercial environment would be beneficial but not essential as full training and support will be given.
Duties
1. Cleaning activities include cobwebbing, disinfecting, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and emptying bins.
2. Undertaking closing duties of the building if required.
3. Cleaning up spills that may include body fluids in bathroom areas.
4. Cleaning duties may vary between terms and closure periods.
This post is Regulated Activity.
Hours of Work
This post works all year round both during when the school is open and pupils are present and during school holiday and closure periods. You will be required to work 10 hours each week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 19:00 hrs and 22:00 hrs of 2 hours per evening.
£11.44 per hour, Annual salary for 10 hours per week is £5,948.80 based on the above hours and weeks of work which is pro-rata of the full-time equivalent salary of £22,308 per annum. This salary will be reviewed in line with Government legislation in April 2024, when the new rate for the National Minimum Wage is confirmed.

Pre-Appointment Checks
All candidates will undergo a Safeguarding Suitability Interview and application for an Enhanced DBS and Barred List check and be asked to provide evidence they are eligible to work in the UK, on an ongoing basis, at the shortlist stage of the selection process.
