Team:
Movetru’s multidisciplinary team consists of engineers, designers, and sports scientists. We strive for fearless, inclusive, innovation from award-winning backgrounds.
Movetru’s board of advisors have a background in technical and IP, Machine learning & big data, medical device certification, legal, and operations. Our advisors are there to support the entire team.
Role:
* Design and develop components and systems, from concept through to final product.
* Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings.
* Choose appropriate materials based on mechanical properties, cost, and manufacturing feasibility.
* Build and test prototypes to validate design functionality and performance.
* Design and assist in developing optimal manufacturing processes, including injection moulding and additive manufacturing.
* Perform simulations and real-world life cycle testing for stress, thermal, and vibration analysis to ensure design durability.
* Implement quality control measures and ensure that products meet required standards and specifications.
* Conduct cost analysis and optimise designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
* Work closely with external suppliers and manufacturers to ensure specifications are met, quality standards are adhered to, and production timelines are followed.
* Ensure products meet regulatory standards and acquire necessary certifications (e.g., CE, FCC, ISO) for market entry.
* Work with production, quality, and R&D teams to align design and manufacturing requirements.
* Identify opportunities for design improvements and manufacturing process optimisations.
Profile:
* Proficient in 3D CAD modelling and technical drawing using SolidWorks or related software.
* Strong understanding of materials science and selection for different applications.
* Experience in manufacturing processes such as injection moulding and 3D printing.
* Skilled in FEA and mechanical simulations for structural, thermal, and vibration analysis.
* Knowledge of prototyping and testing for product validation.
* Ability to perform cost analysis and optimise designs for manufacturability.
* Strong understanding of quality control standards and processes for manufacturing.
* Experience in liaising with external manufacturers to ensure adherence to quality and production timelines.
* Knowledge of certification requirements and regulatory compliance for products.
* Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Someone who enjoys working to key deadlines.
* Ability to commence on pre-existing work and commence new work packages.
* An ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines.
* Can speak and write English to a good standard.
* Must be legally able to work within the UK.
