C-17 Ground Support Equipment Maintenance Technician Company: Boeing Defence United Kingdom Limited An opportunity has become available to join Boeing Defense UK as a C-17 Ground Support Equipment Maintenance Technician. This position is part of the on-site C-17 Field Services Team supporting the Royal Air Force customer at RAF Brize Norton. The Boeing Team at Brize Norton is a vital part of the support we provide to the Royal Air Force customer. We have a team of over 100 employees who work directly for and with the C-17 operational team, providing real-time, time-critical, and dynamic assistance at the point of delivery. This is a team at the vanguard, and we are offering an opportunity for you to join that team. This role is for employment in the Ground Support Equipment Maintenance (GSE) team. This team undertakes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, fault finding, and repair activities that arise on the C-17 GSE. This is a critical function enabling the customer to generate the C-17, the primary strategic airlifter in Royal Air Force service. You will perform maintenance activities, fault diagnosis, and disturbed system functional tests. You will work with peers to perform tasks associated with GSE. Candidates will be responsible for ensuring established process adherence, accurate and timely work recording, and contractual/regulatory compliance. You must have completed a recognized relevant trade apprenticeship or trade training equivalent and be proficient in the interpretation of engineering drawings, workbook instructions, and technical manuals. Position Responsibilities: Assemble, disassemble, and/or modify GSE systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace ground support equipment to correct failures or implement changes. Provide organizational and intermediate-level scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support of C-17 GSE, test equipment, and tooling. Undertake LOLER inspections. Troubleshoot complex systems to isolate electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system faults and repair faulty components within guidelines published in authorized maintenance documents. Assist in the planning of scheduled maintenance. Update the GSE database post-scheduled/unscheduled maintenance. Perform validation/verification testing of systems and components. Document procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance. Required Qualifications: Previous experience in aircraft maintenance planning or production control within a Part 145 (commercial or military) maintenance organization is highly desirable Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of quality and safety in all aspects of work. Additional Qualifications: A high level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working with limited/self-supervision. Proficient computer skills, including the use of the Microsoft Office suite. Forklift license. Good organizational skills. Attention to detail.
