There is an opportunity for an experienced, talented, bright, goal-driven Senior rising to Associate Lighting Designer in our multi-award-winning lighting design studio. You will work on a wide range of projects, many of which are high profile. You should have experience of working in a senior position and the experience of working on international projects would be an advantage. You will be working with junior staff members, who you will lead, motivate and instruct.
We have a friendly, relaxed design studio filled with daylight and a great creative atmosphere, in the heart of a vibrant multi-cultural community, with good (and useful!) shops and theatres, gyms, the River Thames and Ravenscourt Park on our doorstep.
Skills Required:
* A degree or similar qualification in an appropriate field
* Experience of working as a Senior Lighting Designer
* Advantageous to have a professional lighting membership or qualification
* You should be positive and enthusiastic about lighting design
* You should be fluent in English. You should be able to write and speak clearly and as needed, communicate visually in the right way to clients, other design team members and contractors both during the design stages and on site
* You should be able to create quick hand-drawn sketches to communicate ideas
* An up-to-date knowledge of the standards and regulations in lighting and general lighting good practice
* Able to learn new skills and learn about new technology
* Able to take instructions and give instructions and lead other members of staff
* Experience of lighting some of the following would be advantageous: Exhibitions, historic buildings, residential projects, public spaces and exteriors. Plus, a knowledge of control systems and natural light
* The ability to work with AutoCAD, Dialux Evo and Windows Office on PCs is essential
