Main duties of the job Duties can include, but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS). Managing the Electronic Referral System (ERS) within the practice including selection of appropriate clinics, management of rejected referrals, booking appointments, liaison with patients and administration of work lists. Transcribing and managing medical referral letters using the ERS where appropriate. Facilitating urgent and 2 week rule referrals according to practice guidelines, using electronic systems where appropriate and liaising with patients when required. Liaising with hospital and practice staff, other agencies and patients, in accordance with Practice policies.
