As our Procurement Transformation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in revolutionising our procurement processes. Your initial focus will be on implementing and optimising our new procurement software system, refining processes and procedures. Acting initially as the Superuser and Subject Matter Expert, you will ensure the configuration of the software meets our ongoing business needs and builds the platform for future procurement activity. Your efforts will enhance supplier selection and management processes while aligning procurement strategies with organisational objectives.
Responsibilities of the role
1. System Implementation and Optimisation : Lead the procurement software implementation, ensuring optimal configuration and integration with existing systems.
2. Supplier Management : Oversee the vetting, selection, and ongoing management of suppliers, ensuring compliance and fostering strong relationships.
3. Procurement Strategy : Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organisational goals, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and sustainability.
4. Tendering Process Management : Manage tendering processes to ensure they are fair, transparent, and result in the best value for the organisation.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate with departments across the business to ensure procurement strategies are integrated and supportive of overall business objectives.
6. Performance and Compliance Monitoring : Create and monitor KPIs and SLAs for supplier performance and ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
7. Reporting : Provide regular reports on procurement performance, financial savings, and supplier compliance.
Experience / Qualifications
8. Proven experience in procurement, particularly in a role involving transformation or system implementation.
9. Demonstrated success in managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts in a B2B, wholesale, or service-oriented environment.
10. Experience in leading tendering processes and managing significant (£1m+) contract negotiations.
11. A track record of developing and implementing effective procurement strategies.
12. Desirable: A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
13. Desirable: Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS).
