About the Role
As a Building Services Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of facilities across our fast-paced food manufacturing site. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a generalist background in site maintenance and a can-do attitude.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform a wide range of general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting
* Carry out repairs and upkeep of doors, walls, floors, ceilings, and fixtures
* Maintain and troubleshoot issues with lighting, water systems, etc.
* Conduct regular site inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential hazards
* Support scheduled and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure a safe working environment
* Liaise with contractors and external providers when necessary
* Assist in site compliance activities including health and safety standards
About You
This role is perfect for someone experienced in general facilities maintenance or building services, who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional working environment.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
* Proven experience in a general maintenance or handyman-type role
* Basic knowledge of plumbing, joinery, painting, and electrical repairs
* Proactive and reliable with strong problem-solving skills
* Good understanding of health and safety in the workplace
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to adapt to a changing workload and priorities
Desirable
* Experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
* Basic electrical or plumbing qualifications
* Familiarity with compliance checks (e.g. fire safety, legionella, PAT testing)
