This post will play a key role in the development and management of a range of in-house residential provision including emergency accommodation for Rotherham looked after children.
As a Service Manager you will:
1. To provide leadership and management to the Rotherham CYPS residential service, including emergency accommodation, disability short breaks and therapeutic step down. This will primarily be through the management of the Registered Managers The post holder will represent and promote the service in internal and partnership settings.
2. To provide written reports, briefings, and presentations to a wide range of stakeholders including elected members as and when required.
3. To ensure Rotherham Residential services are focused on delivering successful outcomes for all children and young people who live in Children’s homes in Rotherham demonstrating commitment to Rotherham’s values and family approach to care.
4. To quality assure all Residential Children’s Home provision through audit and effective line management to ensure that all provision is effective and of a consistently high standard (either ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’).
5. To ensure that the practice of staff is up to date and at a consistently high standard. To ensure that that all staff fully understand their roles and responsibilities in relation to national regulations, RMBC Policy and practice expectations. This will be promoted via supervision, PDR’s regular service and team meetings, with a focus providing the best care setting to promote best outcomes.
6. Manage systems which ensure that advocacy, voice and Influence opportunities are promoted. To ensure the voice of the child is always heard and responded to in line with the expectations of the Ofsted inspection framework. To also be responsible for ensuring that policy and practice is constantly monitored and challenged, to ensure implementation of the most effective service provision.
7. To develop QA systems and to work within agreed quality assurance frameworks which cover resources, staffing, service user and outcome measures. To be responsible for the provision and receipt of highly complex, sensitive, and contentious information within the whole range of services provided.
8. Contribute to the Council’s budget process, advising the senior managers within the directorate and Elected Members on service priorities and implications of budgetary options. Effectively manage the residential Service budget, ensuring spending within agreed limits.
9. To be responsible for developing and maintaining the highest levels of partnership working both within Localities and with all partners and external agencies. This includes the management of several services, homes and teams across the borough.
10. To provide flexible management cover, including out of hours, to other residential homes when required to meet specific service needs. To also support cover of other management roles across the wider service as required.
As a Service Manager, you are required to:
11. Hold a Social Work England registration.
12. Be eligible to work in the UK.
13. Hold a full UK licence.
14. Hold a level 7 qualification or equivalent
