World Leading Energy Company has an exciting opportunity for a Gas Shift Trading Operator to join the Operations Shift Team which forms part of the European Gas & Power operations organisation. The role is part of a 24-hour shift team which is responsible for the operational management of Energy Europe & Environmental gas and short term trading activities and.
This will be a 12 month initial contract with a view to transition to a permanent role. Competitive Hourly Rate.
The Role:
• Ensure compliance with its contractual and shipper licence obligations, working in line with regulatory and policy requirements;
• Responsible for the accurate nomination and scheduling of equity supplies, trading hubs, storages, interconnectors and pipeline transportation.
• Financial and physical optimisation of portfolio.
• Monitor gas markets, gas flow data and portfolio balances.
• Minimise any imbalances
• Trading optimise portfolio using asset and market spreads across Europe
• Short Term Trading activities
Dimensions:
• Shift comprises eight individuals working a 24/7 shift pattern, 365 days per year; they transports and sells 130 Bcm annually across 13 countries in Europe, with some 2,000 trades scheduled per day across the region, relating to a portfolio of approximately 200 counterparties.
• The role will involve working outside of normal office hours and at weekends and overnight.
• The Commercial Gas Operations Shift Operator will be a lone worker out of hours and therefore must be comfortable to work sometimes without supervision.
The Candidate:
• Strong Knowledge of European Gas operations and Gas markets.
• Self-starter, able to effectively multi-task.
• Ability and confidence to take ownership of issues, managing to resolution.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Commercially focused individual able to demonstrate delivering additional value through portfolio optimisation.
• Able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be flexible, working as part of a Rota 24/7 shift team in London, some hybrid working available.
This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
