A client within the Public Sector based in North London is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Capital Delivery Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing and capital works environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to be responsible for providing Quantity Surveying input with Mechanical and Electrical Services expertise, particularly for large-scale refurbishment and retrofit projects.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Managing large and complex contracts within the Capital Works Programme, including planned maintenance and general works.
Overseeing financial management, cost control, and contract negotiations.
Ensuring the delivery of strategic and practical solutions to improve service standards.
Negotiating effectively with stakeholders to achieve positive commercial outcomes.
Leading on projects involving internal business colleagues and external contractors.
Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements, including GDPR and Health and Safety.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
A degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification, preferably RICS accredited, with several years' post-qualification experience.
Membership with RICS or CIOB.The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Knowledge of NHF Framework contracts, Design and Build, and Traditional Forms of Building Contracts.
Strong expertise in large and complex mechanical and electrical services projects.
Proven ability to manage a wide variety of schemes, including large-scale refurbishment and retrofit projects.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £35 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £27 per hour PAYE).
