Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 with a strong incentives package
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Manager to join their team and take charge of managing the sales operations. As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue through effective sales strategies and providing exceptional customer service.
The Sales Manager role is to manage the entire sales function of the business. This will include both outbound and inbound activity, with the position covering the entire sales cycle – from identifying new opportunities, processing bookings to delivering on a great experience for customers.
Equally important to handling incoming enquiries, is the generation of new business, both from new and existing customers. The Sales Manager will be expected to manage Sales Executives or other relevant team members, in order to achieve growth in this area. Successful driving of new business will likely come from a blend of multiple activities and the Sales Manager must ensure that time devoted to each is carefully balanced.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to attract individual customers, groups, corporate clients and special events to the venue.
2. Actively seek out and build relationships with local businesses, colleges, and community organisations to drive group bookings and increase sales.
3. Respond to inquiries and provide detailed information about our venue, packages and services to potential customers through various communication channels (phone, email, social media, .
4. Manage the booking process including availability, scheduling and payment collection, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
5. Coordinate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of bookings and events, including arranging staffing and handling any special requests or accommodations.
6. Maintain accurate records of bookings, sales and customer interactions using our CRM system.
7. Engage with the marketing team and external PR agencies to support the development of promotional campaigns and materials, driving sales and increasing brand awareness.
8. Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to enhance the customer experience and boost sales.
The Person
9. Proven experience in a sales or marketing management role, preferably in the hospitality, entertainment or events industry.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers and stakeholders.
11. Strong negotiation and closing skills to secure group bookings and corporate partnerships.
12. Outstanding organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple bookings and inquiries simultaneously.
13. Familiarity with CRM software and online booking systems.
14. A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction.
15. Knowledge of the local market and an existing network of contacts in the Kingston area is a plus.
