Covering a maternity leave, this Specification Technologist role is ideal for an individual with experience gained from the UK food industry.
The role:
Reporting into the Technical and Quality Manager, the Specification Technologist (10MTH FTC) will update and maintain detailed product specifications to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and company standards.
The Specification Technologist will ensure that all product specifications are supported by validated claims such as nutritional, health, allergen, etc.
In this role, the Specification Technologist will ensure that all labelling reflects specifications and complies with labelling regulations and legal requirements.
Based on site, the Specification Technologist will support internal and external audits, ensuring product information and documentation are audit ready and compliant.
Ideal candidate:
* Degree in food science, food technology, or a related field
* Must have UK experience as a specification technologist gained from the UK food industry
* Strong knowledge of food composition, basic nutrition, and allergen management and awareness
* Ideally HACCP level 2
* Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to work
* Experience in audits and an up-to-date knowledge of EU and UK food legislation
* Strong project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
* Proven ability to manage data accurately and efficiently

* £32,000 pro rata plus pension
* Based on site in Birmingham with occasional travel
