Red Rock Partnership are delighted to be working with our prestigious client in Bourne who are looking for a Team Leader (Maternity Cover) to join their busy team.
About The Role:
To supervise the harvest of quality crops, within the relevant legal requirements, making sure customer service levels are maintained at all times. To develop and train staff in the correct procedures at all times, ensuring efficiency targets are always achieved. To work closely with the Pot Packing and Planting team, SOP, Grower, and QA Departments. To communicate via radio/company's mobile phone when needed.
Hours of Work: Sunday-Thursday; 6am - 2:30pm
Pay Rate: £13.60 per hour
Temp to perm role for the ideal candidate.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. To pro-actively manage to ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees in the operation and that, as a minimum, the operation meets the standards set out in the Group Health & Safety policy.
2. To maintain standards of quality, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping within your area through Good Manufacturing Practice (G.M.P.) to ensure that both Business and customer standards are kept, and audit requirements are fully met. Report any signs of pests, diseases, and disorders on products.
3. To manage daily harvesting, in line with daily orders and completion in full.
4. To plan staffing levels on a daily basis.
5. To motivate and manage your team to achieve company targets at all times.
6. To communicate and discuss with your team daily, the previous day's productivity rates and any issues or improvements needed.
7. To communicate, promote, manage, maintain, and train staff in the requirements of the BRC regulations and to always work to the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
8. To use the Rubicon system (to print/scan the labels/tags etc.).
9. To work closely with the grower, to report any issues spotted, and offer support where needed.
10. To ensure minimal waste levels of sleeves, pots, or tray stocks are achieved.
11. To use proper stock rotation (oldest harvest dates first).
12. To be flexible to cover absence when required.
13. To ensure the delivery of agreed KPIs across the Harvesting operation through the team, making sure that KPIs are understood and utilized to support performance improvement plans and day-to-day activities. Ensuring systems are in place to collect the necessary data to measure performance against the agreed KPIs.
14. To continuously challenge/supervise the team and the production process to improve operational and financial performance within the harvesting area.
About You:
1. Previous experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in a manufacturing or agricultural business.
2. Attention to detail.
3. Good team player.
4. Flexible.
