Role
Forbes Solicitors are looking for a Solicitor to join our award-winning Commercial Property Team based between our Walton Summit and Manchester Offices.
This is a full-time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday- Friday, 9am until 5pm. Hybrid working arrangements may be available depending on operational requirements.
This is a great opportunity for a Commercial Property Solicitor to join our Commercial Property Team and progress in their current career and bring their current skills and knowledge to a collaborative and professional team. Whilst the role will be working to the fast-paced, customer focused and high standards of a law firm, the role will also provide a sustainable work-life balance and relate to the regional area in which it is based.
The role will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes such as:
* Handling a varied case load of Commercial Property matters primarily consisting of Commercial Property Matters, including but not limited to, the sale, purchase and lease of land or property, Development, infrastructure and planning projects, Property finance and investment, Leasehold management, The drafting, reviewing and negotiation of contracts and Mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and disposals;
* Provision of written and verbal advice in litigated and non-litigated matters;
* Communications with client, opponents, Courts/Tribunals and third parties to progress files;
* Contributing to business development including, presentations and training events, articles/newsletters, Chambers & Legal 500 submissions, etc.
* Provision and supervision of value-added services e.g. client helpline calls/emails, legal surgeries, briefing notes etc.
* Supporting the Head of Department, Partners and other advisors on their own cases, and the delivery of the departmental strategy and business objectives;
* Management, supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring of (and delegation of work to) Solicitors and Paralegals to facilitate the achievement of their business objectives and professional development goals;
* Ensuring compliance with internal and external business requirements including ISO:9001 quality control, SRA Principles / Code of Conduct, Court & Tribunal deadlines;
* Monitoring and reporting on own financial and business performance, and of colleagues under the Partners management / supervision responsibilities, to deliver work in a profitable manner;
* Contributing towards internal continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing;
* Inter-departmental support and collaboration on joint files, projects, and events;
* Contributing to the development of the departmental business plan;
* Building positive relationships with current/prospective clients and enhancing the firm’s profile, to drive business growth;

We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on applications demonstrating the following the knowledge, experience, and skills:
* qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) NQ up to 5 years PQE;
* previous demonstrable Commercial Property law experience and knowledge is essential;
* proven experience of handling own caseload, working to and managing deadlines, alongside the Capability to generate fees in accordance with agreed targets;
* an aptitude or interest in Commercial Property;
* have strong presentation and client handling skills and be commercially astute;
* good knowledge of IT systems, including, Word, Outlook and case management systems;
* good organisational and communication skills;
* have the ability to work unsupervised and good self-motivation skills;
* have the ability to supervise and manage others effectively;
* have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team and be reliable and enthusiastic;
* have excellent attention to detail;
