Managing Director at Access Accounts Services Ltd
Experience:
Bookkeeping, must include some practice experience: 3 years (2 years minimum)
Key responsibilities:
1. Daily usage of financial processes and systems, enhancing and updating where needed
2. Working with a variety of different clients and business types
3. Management of sales and purchase ledgers
4. Maintaining accounts, verifying and posting transactions
5. Reconciling and balancing bank and control accounts on a week-to-week, month-to-month or quarter-to-quarter basis as appropriate to the client.
6. Liaising with clients, suppliers and banking contacts
7. Prepare and submit VAT returns
8. Prepare and submit Self-Assessment tax returns
9. Preparing schedules, statements and reports as requested by client or internal management
10. Working closely with accountants to provide timely and accurate information for year end accounting statutory reports
The Ideal Candidate (not all essential):
1. Possess first-rate numerical skills
2. Strong bookkeeping skills and previous experience in a similar role
3. Solid organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
4. Excellent communication skills, including relationship building with individuals across the business
5. Highly computer literate with experience of accounting packages
6. Ability to work quickly, accurately and to deadlines, using a logical and methodical approach
7. Possess relevant or specialist qualifications such as AAT / ICB etc.
8. Strong experience of using cloud-based accounting systems such as Quickbooks, Xero (current certification preferred) and DEXT
9. Knowledge of Excel and other MS Office products
10. Familiarity with preparing simple limited company accounts
11. Knowledge of Taxcalc or similar Tax Filing software.
12. Some payroll experience / knowledge
