As a SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges through education and training. Job Title: SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Ware, Hertfordshire Salary: £460 - £500 per week Sector: Education and Training Contract Type: Full-Time / Supply options available Start Date: Immediate We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to work alongside the class teacher and other support staff to meet the varying needs of the children as SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant in Ware. A flexible approach is essential, as you will provide support both to the classroom as a whole and to individual students. Responsibilities of SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a variety of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment. Support students' emotional and social development through positive reinforcement strategies. Collaborate with teachers and parents to implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Encourage and facilitate the development of students' confidence, independence, and key life skills. Essential Requirements: A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, though not essential. Full training and support will be provided. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A commitment to promoting the individual strengths and achievements of each student. A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning (e.g., Level 2 or 3) is desirable, but not a requirement. Ability to commute to Ware.
