The Role:
This position offers the chance to provide commercial expertise and project support throughout the project lifecycle—from feasibility to completion.
* Producing and assessing tender packages to ensure accuracy and fairness.
* Preparing and agreeing valuations and accounts from interim to final stages, ensuring timely payments.
* Managing costs and maximizing project value through effective cost control measures.
* Preparing detailed progress reports and CVRs to keep stakeholders informed.
* Handling change management, including identifying and negotiating variations to minimize delays and additional costs.
* Overseeing contract administration for NEC and JCT forms, ensuring compliance and best practices.
* Supporting site teams with processes and improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
* Procuring and managing sub-contractors and suppliers to maintain high standards of quality and service.
* Collaborating with accounts and credit control teams to monitor payments and prevent late payments.
* Acting with professionalism and integrity, ensuring client satisfaction and business success through excellent customer service.
Key Requirements:
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar commercial role, preferably in a contracting or demolition services environment.
* Proficiency in measuring, preparing bills of quantities, and estimating costs to ensure accurate pricing.
* Strong knowledge of tendering processes and contract forms such as NEC and JCT, including their implications and requirements.
* Excellent negotiation skills and ability to win work through effective communication and persuasion.
* Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, to manage documents and data effectively.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate with colleagues.
