Engine Test Engineer - IC Engine
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Engine Test Engineer at a market-leading group in specialist vehicles.
This role is to allow the candidate to develop into a core member of the ICE team within Propulsion.
The candidate will be expected to run a project with the support of a Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer or Engineering Manager. It is expected that the candidate will develop over time to become more autonomous and running more complex project work as customer demands change.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure all H&S and quality procedures have been adhered to.
To deliver engineering objectives set by the Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer or Engineering Manager.
Generate engine installation packs and schematics for accurate test bed setups.
Identify engine/test delivery faults and collaborate with others to find effective solutions.
Processing and validation of engine test data.
Analysing engine data and understanding correct trends and causes for concern.
Supporting colleagues as required to achieve wider goals.
Track project efficiency and maintain project related invoicing.
Experience/Qualifications
Automotive/Mechanical Engineering HND, Degree.
Relevant experience of testbed operation will be considered in place of qualifications.
2 years minimum experience in an automotive engineering discipline
Test bed experience in an automotive testing environment.
Excellent understanding of gasoline and diesel engine mechanical fundamentals.
Instrumentation experience (thermocouples, pressure transducers etc.).
Able to create test automation procedures/schedules with a view to maximise automated running
Experience of a wide variety of engine types would be advantageous (Petrol, Diesel, High Performance, Heavy Duty, Alternative Fuels, CEC Fuels Testing)
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence & own transport
Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check
