This is an exciting opportunity to join a unit that has a responsibility for delivering service improvement across the Force for the benefit of the public. In the role, you will assess the quality of service delivered by the Force, as well as its effectiveness in managing demand, and identifying and managing risk. This will involve analysing evidence from a variety of sources, including crime and incident data, fieldwork and audit across a number of business areas and producing briefing papers and presentations incorporating your key findings and inferences for use in service improvement meetings. You will then work with the Service Improvement Advisors to facilitate improvements across the Thames Valley.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Proven research and quantitative/qualitative analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and problem-solve.
2. A degree and/or experience of analysis in a police or similar environment.
3. Excellent report-writing and presentation skills.
4. Substantial experience of using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems.
5. Highly motivated with the ability to plan, manage, and prioritise your own workload while working to tight deadlines.
Knowledge of a range of areas of policing and a professional qualification in analysis is desirable but not essential.
The Service Improvement Analyst role also offers a linked-grade opportunity meaning that as you develop in the post there would be the option for you to apply to become a 4I grade without changing role. Accessing the 4I grade will require production of a portfolio and evidence of certain key skills, which will reflect significant development in the analyst role.
As part of the Thames Valley Police family you will enjoy a fantastic range of benefits including 24 days annual leave per annum, pro-rata for part time (plus Bank Holidays), flexible working conditions, a wide range of lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities and have the option to join a local government pension scheme.
