Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Charity Accounts Assistant to join the Finance Team of The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. This post is to assist the Head of Charity in respect of the administration and operation of the Charity accounts.
Suitable applicants will demonstrate experience working in a finance function, with strong IT and communication skills (written & verbal). You will have a customer-focused attitude with a respect for confidentiality. Applicants will need to be self-motivated with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.

Main Duties of the Job
The Charity Accounts Assistant is responsible for providing financial support to the Charities Team, supporting the Head of Charity and Head of Financial Governance and Compliance, in respect of the administration and operation of Charity function. The post will also be expected to provide support to the Accounts Payable function for the Trust as required.
* Process Charitable Funds requests on a daily basis. Raising order requests and obtaining the necessary approval in line with Charity Governance. Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotes and place orders.
* Support the management of Charitable Funds email inbox, ensuring timely and professional responses.
* Provide administrative support for the Charity, supporting the team as appropriate.
* Responsible for ensuring all accounting records, systems and files are promptly and accurately maintained, including appropriate treatment of VAT and tax and NI implications according to current guidance for Charities.

Qualifications
Essential Criteria
* Minimum 5 GCSE's Grade 4 or above (including Maths and English) or equivalent.
* AAT intermediate level/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent level of knowledge gained through relevant experience).
Desirable Criteria
* AAT Intermediate qualified or an A level in accounting.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential Criteria
* Minimum of 2 years experience working in a finance function.
* Experience of computerised financial systems.
Desirable Criteria
* NHS charity finance or equivalent charity sector finance experience.
Practical and Intellectual Skills, Personal Qualities, Abilities and Attributes
Essential Criteria
* Strong IT Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook and MS Teams).
* Excellent Communication skills (written and verbal).
* Self-motivated, with an ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
* Strong organisation skills and ability to work with limited supervision.
* Customer-focused with a respect for confidentiality.
* Working to a high degree of accuracy.
* Integrity for dealing with cash and credit card.
* Commitment to the NHS.
Desirable Criteria
* Understanding of Charity Finance accounting and governance.
