Position: 2nd Line IT Support Engineer (Windows Server / Office 365 / VMware)
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join a fast-paced, growing IT Managed Services company based in Northampton, and become a key member of their busy Helpdesk team. As a 2nd Line Support Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact on the IT helpdesk, working to and meeting SLA response and resolution targets for customer IT issues.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support to multiple external or internal users via telephone and remote access.
2. Demonstrate practical experience and solid understanding of troubleshooting, supporting, and administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and ideally, Citrix XenApp and Terminal Services, Microsoft Exchange Server.
3. Work under pressure, multitask, and organize priorities effectively.
4. Take ownership of issues and work to tight timescales.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A minimum of 3 years of recent employment in a technical Service Desk role.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills with a confident and organized personality.
3. Commitment to delivering excellent customer service at all times.
4. Experience with Windows XP/7/8, Microsoft Office, and VMware is highly beneficial.
5. Experience of using remote management and monitoring software, and technical troubleshooting & support of Symantec Backup Exec, Veeam.
6. Certifications in ITIL, Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, etc. are advantageous.
