About the role
As an Engagement Specialist at Balfour Beatty, you will play a key role in supporting Balfour Beatty by enhancing our employee engagement and fostering a positive workplace culture to increase retention and have Balfour Beatty be a great place to work.
What you'll be doing
* Facilitate New Hire Presentation on Fridays
* Send new candidates WeCare welcome box.
* Create and present New Hiring Manager training on best practices for onboarding new employees.
* Create and send all managers for best practices for new hires, transfers and promotions.
* Be a resource for new candidates in the pre-employment process.
* Celebrate Balfour Beatty anniversaries for new hires particularly 1st.
* Build an employee engagement committee to help brainstorm best practices and ideas with support of site teams and Operations leaders.
* Focus on high turnover sites and provide ideas and participate in team building activities.
* Partner with HRBP and Operations Leaders on efforts to support retention.
* Partner with Marketing and Communications as well as Training and Development to initiatives to support employee engagement.
* Analyze and create action plans with HRBPs from 30-day employee survey.
* Follow up directly with employees on their responses and best assist with any concerns or issues.
* Support needs of HR for Employee Engagement Survey.
Typical Physical Demands: Regularly uses hands to manipulate phones, computer keyboard and similar tools. Ability to view computer screens, mobile devices, and other electronic equipment, for extended periods of time. Sit and stand to perform administrative work. Regularly lift and move office supplies up to 20 lbs.
Work is performed in an office environment. Employee must travel throughout the company footprint as required.
Who we're looking for
* Associates or bachelor’s degree in pursuit of Human Resources or Business is preferred
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources role (i.e., recruiting, onboarding or generalist)
* Understanding HR practices and procedures
* Strong organizational skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to multitask
* Process oriented
* Ability to travel 50% of time
* Possession of a valid state issued driver’s license and safe driving record are required
