Internal Legal Consultant
Role Summary
Prestigious International Private Equity Firm are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Legal Consultant to provide expert legal guidance across a broad range of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong general counsel background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex legal landscapes. Proficiency in Chinese (spoken and written) is essential to support our international operations and partnerships.
This role will also involve collaborating with the internal compliance team to ensure the organization meets its regulatory obligations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory :
Advise the Group Chairman and senior leadership on legal risks, corporate governance, and commercial matters.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documentation.
Provide strategic legal insights to support the organization’s business objectives.
Collaboration with Compliance:
Understand regulatory requirements, including FCA standards, and offer legal advice to support compliance efforts.
Work closely with the internal compliance team to ensure seamless adherence to regulatory frameworks.
Risk Management:
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations and projects.
Manage disputes, regulatory inquiries, and potential legal claims in collaboration with external counsel as needed.
Stakeholder Support:
Act as a trusted legal advisor to internal stakeholders, providing practical and business-oriented legal solutions.
Facilitate communications and legal processes in Chinese to support international operations and partnerships.
Qualifications & Experience
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; qualified solicitor or barrister (or jurisdiction equivalent).
Experience:
5–7years of post-qualification experience in a general counselor in-house legal role.
Proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and managing corporate legal matters.
Familiarity with FCA-regulated environments and compliance frameworks is preferred.
Language Skills:
Fluent in Chinese (both spoken and written) is essential.
Strong English communication skills (both written and spoken).
Knowledge:
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, particularly FCA regulations, is advantageous.
Familiarity with corporate governance and data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) is a plus.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
