We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 teaching assistant to join a supportive and inclusive Special educational needs (SEN) school community in Portsmouth. The school caters to a diverse range of special educational needs to include Autism and other learning difficulties. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting children with special educational needs, helping them to thrive and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and enriching environment. Assist the students with accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities. Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment. Support with personal care and communication needs where appropriate. Work closely with the class teacher and other staff members to monitor progress and adapt strategies. Help develop and implement individualised learning plans. Support children’s social and emotional development, encouraging positive behaviour. We Are Looking For Someone Who: Has experience working with children, ideally with special educational needs (SEN) or adults with additional needs. Holds a passion for helping children reach their potential, regardless of their challenges. Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a calm, nurturing approach. Is able to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. Holds a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
