Works Manager - Quarry and Aggregates - based in Buxton
We have an exciting opportunity to work with a well-known client in the Quarry and Aggregates Industry as a Works Manager based in Buxton.
The role will be an integral part of their team and the duties will include:
1. To uphold, enforce and manage all safety regulations set out by the HSE.
2. To ensure you and your team meet all the quality standards, so safety-critical products maintain their high standard.
3. To ensure all environmental site targets are achieved and maintained to ISO 14000:1.
4. Must maintain all documentation relating to H&S, welfare, site audits, and inspections.
5. Support all initial HR processes.
6. To competently investigate all incidents and manage all actions relating to each investigation.
7. To oversee and manage the smooth running of the Buxton site.
8. To build and lead a team and create a structure that will ensure succession.
9. To organise and plan all labour to meet production targets.
10. To inspire and motivate your team to be their best.
11. To ensure that Buxton is working efficiently and to ensure all records for all KPI's are up to date.
12. To arrange and plan all site work activities.
13. To resource all materials, components, safety equipment, and PPE.
14. Proactively improve our ways of working with problem solving, new ideas, or new machinery.
15. To organise and plan all labour to ensure all deliveries are achieved.
16. Manage all stocks relating to our products.
17. Implement & maintain 5S standards on Site.
Qualifications that are essential:
1. IOSH (managing safely).
2. NEBOSH (General certificate).
3. Good level of experience using Microsoft applications, mainly Excel and Word.
4. Experience in managing people and understanding the needs of the individual.
5. Track record in dealing with suppliers and stock control.
6. Be able to communicate at all levels.
7. Have a proactive and positive approach to change and endeavour to inspire change to better the role.
This is an exciting and diverse role that will offer a long-term career with a well-established and respected business and a salary of between £48,000 to £54,000 depending on experience, plus other company benefits.
