Refining and Trading PGM's is key to JMs strategy. JM is the largest recycler of PGMS in the world, allowing us to be the No. 1 suppler of secondary PGMs. This supports our Global trading desk allowing customers to source and sell metal for internal use within other JM businesses and the wider Industry.
PGMS Refining & Trading Business Partner, is akin to a Finance Director role driving and executing the Refining and Trading business strategy, optimising the P&L and Balance Sheet. The Business Partner is a Global role with a small team working across functions from Commercial, Supply chain and Operations driving business growth and cash optimisation
The role has a direct reporting line to the PGMS CFO and serves the wider Business Leadership team to support the delivery of Refining and Trading strategy.
In this role you will:
* Accountable for business performance in P&L and Balance Sheet, ensuring alignment with budget and strategic objectives, while identifying levers to execute financial and business plans.
* Partner with the Business Leadership Team to influence decisions, set periodic targets, drive cost management forecasts, and lead course correction actions when needed.
* Manage financial performance through integrated business planning (IBP), identifying critical actions, providing insights, and supporting decisions on cost, working capital, and revenue initiatives.
* Mitigate metal price risks by executing strategies with PMM, prioritise capital investments, and provide real-time financial analysis to drive profitability and decision-making.
* Lead transformation and change management initiatives, focusing on performance management processes, forecasting, and data-driven improvements to unlock better business outcomes.
* Develop, coach, and inspire the finance team to build capability, ensure talent management and succession planning, and align team performance with business goals.
Key requirements:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA accounting qualification or equivalent.
* Relevant experience as a Finance Director in manufacturing or similar industries; experience in science, technology, or engineering is desirable.
* Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with experience working internationally across cultures and matrix structures.
* Proven ability to drive business performance while maintaining strong control environments, systems, and processes in complex businesses.
* Experience influencing colleagues outside direct reporting lines and across global teams.
* Willingness to travel moderately as part of the role
