Job Description
We value a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community wishing to join a workforce which embraces difference and welcomes everyone.
As part of the Flood and Coastal Risk Management directorate, you will represent the Data Analysis and Reporting Team (DART), engaging widely across the business to transform performance data into business, commercial, and programme information with a focus on capital delivery. While providing specific capabilities for the team, you will also have a general understanding of the team’s operation and will support accordingly as the need arises.
As a Technical Business Analyst, you will support identifying current gaps and challenges in management information and business intelligence reporting, work with and develop stakeholder requirements for data products such as dashboards, and translate this into user stories and tasks for data analysts. This is a challenging space, and we expect the analyst to be able to “get into the detail” of the systems and user requirements and define the art of the possible. Alongside requirements gathering for product development, the Business Analyst may be asked to support desk studies that highlight and present solutions to some of the challenges around data maturity.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment, and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
