An exciting opportunity has arisen in General Surgery Clapham ward for a dynamic and motivated deputy ward sister/charge nurse with experience in General Surgery.
The role of the post holder is to support the ward manager, and in their absence ensure the effective management of Clapham Ward at Worthing General Hospital. In addition, the post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership within this area, ensuring an effective, quality service with responsibility for patient safety and standards of care. To practice and act in accordance with NMC code of conduct and University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job
* Provide high quality leadership for the nursing team and support the ward manager to ensure quality and safety is prioritised in the clinical area, supporting staff and patient experience.
* Provide high quality evidence-based clinical care to patients, in line with the Trust Values and in accordance with professional regulations.
* Work with others to protect and promote the health and wellbeing of those in your care, their families and carers, and the wider community.
* Act as a role model communicating in line with the Trust Values, to patients, carers, and the staff at all times.

* Take every opportunity to continue to maintain and develop your own practice.

Job responsibilities
* Provide leadership to and work as part of a team ensuring effective communication with all health care professionals within the clinical team and across all disciplines.
