Key Responsibilities:
The position strategically and operationally manages a portfolio of global insurance coverages. This includes program design, purchase, implementation, claim management and loss prevention activities. Key responsibility is to manage relationships with brokers, insurers, consultants and other administrators. Work includes preparing loss analyses and budgets, identifying exposures, recommending solutions, implementing recommended solutions, updating and monitoring compliance with insurance related policies and procedures, drafting and maintaining safety/risk management manuals/collateral. The position will be responsible for portfolio activities in the absence of the Director of Global Insurance. Manage special insurance / risk projects.
Technical advisor and subject matter expert for insurance globally. Identify and analyze exposures, analyze and recommend, implement solutions for a portfolio of insurance in all regions ensuring compliance with local regulations. Process will require ability to influence global staff in supporting updating coverages. Negotiate with brokers, insurers and other providers to secure appropriate insurance terms and conditions for WVI.
Lead the management, handling, monitoring, investigation and negotiation of loss settlements with internal stakeholders and external insurance providers for multi-line claims, including but not limited to D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime, Cyber, Professional Liability (MPL), Medical Malpractice, Political Risk and related coverages on a global basis.
Lead the development, implementation and all aspects of insurance and risk management projects related touch as management lines, political risk, cyber & medical malpractice and related coverages. Provide necessary advice, language and coverage for grants and all contracts / commercial contracts. Responsibilities include management of process internally and externally, developing reports as well as trainings and communications.
Shared management and direction of junior insurance staffs' work flow. Mentoring and educating junior staff to provide professional development. Defining and overseeing projects including goals, timelines and deliverables.
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
2. 7-10 years in the insurance industry through any combination of working in a professional risk management capacity with a major property/casualty insurance carrier, and/or with a global insurance brokerage firm.
3. A thorough knowledge of multi-lines claims handling procedures in a global environment.
4. Work experience in an international/global context as a technical advisor, advocate and subject matter expert as either an in-house risk manager or broker for international corporations / organizations.
5. Demonstrated knowledge in developing strategies for successful claims (including litigated claims) handling and cost containment.
6. Strong technical expertise interpreting insurance coverage, analysis of risk exposures, and writing contact language relative to insurance/indemnity exposures in contracts.
7. Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10 % of the time.
8. English Language Fluent proficiency.
9. Insurance broker licensing, and risk management designation such as CPCU, ARM, ARM-E, etc.
10. Ability to handle a high volume of work through prioritization and project management
11. Technical knowledge of specialty insurance coverage including but not limited to D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime, Cyber, Professional Liability (MPL), Medical Malpractice, Political Risk and related coverages.
12. Expertise in researching, analyzing and implementing best practices related to compulsory insurance requirements, laws and regulations in multiple countries, relative to multiple lines of insurance.
13. Proficient in the implementation of global insurance programs for large multi-national corporations – Controlled Master Program with local underlying policies in each country, as required.
14. Intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
15. Insurance specific education and achievement of professional designations such as ARM, CPCU, AIC and/or broker licensing is highly preferred.
Compensation:
For positions filled in the United States, the typical salary range for this role is $82,894 to $103,618 USD. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience and geographic location.
