Job Overview:
The Works Coordinator – Schemes and Capital Works will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating a variety of schemes and capital works projects. This will be undertaken by facilitating the associated processes which ensure that asset, capital and scheme packages received by the Capital Programme Team are suitable for delivery on a countywide basis. The role will also act as the lead contact for works coordination functions enabling scheme originators and the operational team to have one point of contact for the prompt resolution of any issues. The role holder will also be required to provide regular updates for schemes ensuring that the scheme originators are fully informed of progression.
Duties will include:
1. Ensuring all works packages received from the Technical Team, Engineering Design Group and Structures Design Group contain all required pre-construction information.
2. Providing technical advice at the design stage as required through early contractor involvement (ECI).
3. Ensuring that all relevant parties are in attendance at ECI meetings, including but not exhaustive of, Area Manager and/or Working Foreman, Designers, Client Officers, other members of the Capital Programme Team where appropriate.
4. Ensuring that the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations are adhered to.
5. Assisting operational colleagues with the development and review of required scheme documentation. To include health & safety, environmental risk assessments, method statements, construction phase plans, construction programmes, traffic management plans, temporary works coordination, amongst other such required paperwork.
6. Organising and lead pre-construction meetings to ensure these are organised to relevant scheme timetables and planned proactively.
7. Liaising and coordinating sub-contractors employed to undertake works within the scope of scheme construction.
8. Providing regular updates for schemes under the postholder remit to ensure the designer, scheme originators and clients are fully aware of a scheme’s status and progression.

About you
We are looking for you to bring:
9. years of highway experience including construction, maintenance and site supervision.
10. Detailed knowledge of health & safety legislation.
11. Knowledge of contract procedures and specification.
12. CSCS Managers/Supervisors Card
13. Have or working towards Eng Tech and/or HNC in Civil Engineering
14. Full UK Driving Licence.
