The Role: Cyber Incident Lead
Join our innovative Cyber Security team at British Airways as a Cyber Incident Lead, where you'll be at the forefront of safeguarding one of the world’s leading airlines. This is a critical role, ensuring we effectively identify, respond to, and recover from cyber incidents, contributing to the resilience and security of our operations.
What You’ll Do:
1. Lead the response and management of cyber incidents across British Airways’ digital estate, maintaining readiness 24/7, 365 days a year.
2. Develop, maintain, and manage incident response processes, ensuring they are robust and effective.
3. Present complex technical concepts in an accessible manner to stakeholders across all levels of seniority and expertise.
4. Build meaningful relationships with business stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and incident preparedness.
5. Conduct thorough risk assessments, even in situations with ambiguous or incomplete information.
6. Support the development of in-house digital forensics capabilities to aid investigative efforts across the organisation.
7. Collaborate closely with other cyber teams to ensure incident data informs and enhances security tool configurations and controls.
8. Coordinate with other International Airline Group (IAG) Operating Companies to manage multi-entity incidents, sharing critical intelligence and lessons learned.
9. Drive the continuous improvement of supplier relationships and oversee their alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
What You’ll Bring to British Airways:
1. A proactive and pragmatic approach, thriving under pressure and complexity.
2. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a methodical and structured mindset.
3. Strong communication skills, capable of translating technical issues into clear insights for diverse audiences.
4. The ability to remain calm and prioritise effectively in high-pressure situations.
5. A deep understanding of incident response methodology and experience with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
Your Experience:
1. Proven experience in cyber incident response within large, complex organisations.
2. Knowledge in digital forensics and its application to investigations.
3. Experience working with stakeholders across diverse teams and seniority levels.
4. (Desirable) Familiarity with aviation, transport, or critical infrastructure environments.
5. (Desirable) Relevant cybersecurity qualifications such as GIAC Incident Handler.
