Operations & Business Development Assistant. Closing 12th Dec
The post holder will lead on business development to drive customer retention and growth opportunities. The post holder will also assist the theatre manager in the smooth operational running of the venue and lead delivery of a range of projects and services that improve efficiency and service delivery.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Business Development
1. Responsible for maintenance and optimisation of the corporate website using Squizz content management system; including adding new pages, creating, and updating content and identifying and implementing site enhancements based on data from Google Analytics.
2. Responsible for Riverside’s email marketing system and analysis to improve future campaigns.
3. Plan and execute the timely delivery of engaging content across all social media channels (Facebook/ Twitter/ YouTube).
4. Manage the theatre’s CRM system (Ticketsolve).
5. Manage the theatre’s EPOS and presales communication platforms.
6. Keep up to date with latest digital trends relevant to the arts sector.
7. Manage and train casual Box office staff and interns in the systems.
8. Build and develop online surveys to gather valuable customer feedback, collating and analysing the information and sending regular reports to key stakeholders with suggested improvements.
Business Operations
1. Responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination and supervision of front of house and casual staff and the provision of services for users to the Riverside Theatre facilities.
2. To support the Theatre Manager to develop and deliver a plan for the Riverside Theatre’s new business development, marketing, and communication, appropriate to need and responsive to opportunity.
3. Be responsible for communicating this plan to all Riverside staff and stakeholders.
4. Align the plan with the strategic values of the organisation and other programmes, seeking to maximise opportunities through collaboration.
5. Help to monitor and seek opportunities to grow turnover of Riverside Theatre.
6. Innovate and offer new ideas and approaches for developing the Riverside Theatre, building relationships with other prospective partners and with other networks and members where appropriate.
7. Stay appropriately networked and keep abreast of trends, news, events, and deadlines, so that all possible, new, or enhanced opportunities are exploited.
Partner Liaison and Project Management
1. Assist the Theatre Manager to manage existing corporate and media relationships and to initiate new relationships.
2. Support development of hospitality offering within the theatre.
3. Assist the Theatre Manager to identify current funding requirements for core activities and specific projects from foundations, trusts, and government. Including contributing to an annual fundraising target.
4. Assist the Theatre Manager to develop innovative approaches and sponsorship (and other) income packages.
5. Assist the Theatre Manager with the review of existing patron/ membership schemes and develop appropriate plans.
6. Assist the Theatre Manager in the planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting of Riverside Theatre’s marketing and business development activity.
Administration & Finance
1. Responsible for ordering stock for Front of house operations and carrying out regular audits and stock takes with support of other theatre staff.
2. Responsible for running monthly closed reports and transaction lists from ticketing and financial systems to review the income and the expenditure and pick up any variances.
3. Produce reports and data for theatre manager to present at meetings.
The role involves working evenings and weekends and sharing of Duty Manager shifts as required. All other duties as required that are commensurate to the nature and grade of the post.
