Job Summary: We are seeking a versatile and motivated individual to join our team as a Procurement Manager for fruit & vegetable supply business. This role combines sourcing high-quality fruits and vegetables from suppliers and routing them to our customers, ensuring timely and efficient service. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, excellent organizational skills, and a strong customer service mindset. It’s a new company which would open big opportunities for the candidate to stay in a leading position while the team will be growing. Once we set up initial business processes, the driver role would be delegated for a new hire. Key Responsibilities: Source fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms, wholesalers, or markets based on quality, pricing, and seasonal availability. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent supply. Negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers to optimize cost-efficiency. Monitor produce quality and ensure compliance with food safety standards. Track inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid shortages or waste. Analyse the market to retrieve potential customers. Work closely with drivers to safely transport fresh produce from suppliers to the storage facility or directly to customers such as grocery stores and restaurants. Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, addressing questions or concerns. Collect feedback to improve product quality and service. Operational Support: Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and inventory levels. Perform routine checks on delivery vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any issues with procurement, deliveries, or vehicle maintenance promptly. Qualifications and Skills: Required: Valid UK driver’s license with a clean driving record. Experience in logistics, procurement, or delivery operations in F&B supply chain. Physical ability to lift and move heavy produce boxes. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Basic understanding of food safety and quality standards. Familiarity with local suppliers and markets. Preferred: Knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including seasonal availability. Proficiency in using mobile apps or software for route planning and inventory tracking. Customer service experience. Key Attributes: Highly organized and detail-oriented.
