Here at Portsmouth University Hospital NHS Trust Audiology department, we are proud to introduce ourselves and share with you that we are looking to recruit a Band 6 Senior Audiologist or Clinical Scientist to a vacancy that has arisen within the department. We are looking for an Audiologist with general Audiology experience and experience of at least one specialist area of Audiology, for example Paediatric assessment, tinnitus rehabilitation or vestibular testing or rehab. The successful candidate will have AHCS/RCCP or HCPC registration (pre-registered STP students completing their studies will be considered). Excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills are essential.
Main duties of the job
Ideally you will be looking for a Trust that will enable you to grow and as a busy training department we have lots of experience in supporting staff to accomplish new skills. Opportunities are available to be involved with the supervision of students on the STP, HTS and Graduate Apprenticeship schemes. There are opportunities to be involved with service review and development.
The department provides a wide variety of Audiology services. We cover a large geographical area with clinics in Hampshire, western West Sussex and the Isle of Wight. Applications for part time hours will be welcomed. If you are not local to us already, you may not know a lot about Portsmouth, we do have much to be proud of and it is all on our doorstop!

This post involves leading paediatric assessment, and Adult assessment and rehabilitation clinics. Additional opportunities in Tinnitus, Complex adults and Vestibular services are available. This role will involve assisting with the training and support of our STP trainees and line management of other clinical staff.

Qualifications
Essential
1. STP, or MSc in Clinical Audiological Science and Certificate of Audiological Competence, or BAAT or PTP or BSc in Audiology or equivalent with appropriate clinical experience and sign off.
2. Clinical skills and management to appropriate standard of independent practice as supported by State Registration.

3. Experience of managing all aspects of care involved in at least one area of advanced Audiology from Complex Adults, Paediatrics, Vestibular or Tinnitus services.
4. Experience of using all relevant diagnostic, rehabilitative and clinical instrumentation
