Senior Learning Support Practitioner
Location: Minehead, Somerset
Hourly Rate: £13.05 - £13.46
Annual Salary: £25,113.42 - £26,268.06 (FTE £27,144.00 - £28,392.00)
Hours: 40 hours per week – Term time plus additional days and training (42 weeks per year)
Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to work with a large SEN College based in Minehead. The school is looking for a passionate Senior Learning Support Practitioner to join their dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, support and guide, under the support and guidance of the House Team Leader/Deputy House Team Leader, all Student Support Practitioners (LSPs) on your shift.
* Carry out the same duties as an LSP, but you will have additional responsibilities in Health and Safety, with the support and guidance of the House Team Leader/Deputy House Team Leader.
* Be in charge of a shift of workers and take responsibility for the smooth running of the service whilst on duty.
* Respond to emergencies and provide guidance and support to LSPs under the support and guidance of the House Team Leader/Deputy House Team Leader.
* Participate in staff induction programmes as and when required.
* Take responsibility during your shift for any issues that may arise and take the appropriate action.
* Have high expectations of all students, constantly challenging and stretching each student at every opportunity.
Successful Candidate Qualities
* Experience in a similar role is desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
* Experience in supporting in the care or education industry.
* Desirable: an understanding of working with people with a disability.
* Level 2 in English and Maths.
* Level 3 relevant qualification in either education or care.
