Closing Date: Monday 3rd March
We require a 25-hour Support Worker for LOCHSIDE day support, Lochgilphead.
You should be a team player, empathetic, passionate about support and have transferrable skills.
Argyll and Bute is one of Scotland’s most stunning areas. As its award-winning council, we play a vital part in the day-to-day life and long-term future of our beautiful and diverse communities. Our unwavering purpose is to make Argyll and Bute the place to be, the place where people want to live, to work and do business. And we are committed to making the council the place to have a great career, by providing excellent benefits and a friendly, dynamic working culture so that each of our colleagues can deliver services that help our corner of Scotland thrive. Join us to make a difference.
Our Learning Disability Support Services provide essential, innovative person centred support for individuals by helping people with learning disabilities/physical disabilities and complex conditions to access to and continue education and development, live in their own tenancies, paid employment opportunities, life skills development and meaningful activities, achieve their desired outcomes and become more involved in their communities. We also support neurodiverse adults with autism (ASD) and behavioural supports (ADHD), often transitioning from school. Autism is not a learning disability but in our rural areas, there are few supports that adults can be signposted to. Many of the people we support also have autism, so individuals are supported by our registered day location teams.
Our HSCP in house registered support locations are SCSWIS (Care Inspectorate) registered providers.
We have multi-trained teams who often support individuals who are unable to be supported by anyone else due to complex issues. However, we often identify people, who may be able to be signposted to our other community support networks or alternatives.
Experience would be great, but a firm value base to support our people to reach their potential is more important.
Our employees make good things happen in the day-to-day life and for the longer term future of Argyll and Bute. We want you to feel valued working for us. We offer various benefits to support you, such as a competitive salary, pension scheme, generous leave entitlement, cycle to work scheme, discounts on gym memberships and leisure centres, wellbeing initiatives, and opportunities for learning and career growth. We also embrace a modern approach to work, offering a flexible first approach where possible to requests from our employees to how they work.
We care about our people and the world around us and always aim to do the right thing. From employee recognition schemes to environmental policies we have many initiatives in place to help us look after the things we all care about.
