About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Specialist Learning Support Assistant to join our team in North Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a supportive and nurturing environment. The role is focused on supporting students across the school, from Early Years to Key Stage 2.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one and group support for pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and integrate into the classroom.
2. Support pupils with behavioural challenges, providing intervention and implementing effective strategies to encourage positive behaviour.
3. Assist in small group or 1:1 interventions, focusing on academic progress and social-emotional development.
4. Work closely with the SEND team to deliver tailored support for individual students.
5. Help pupils re-integrate into classroom settings, providing additional support where necessary.
6. Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure the success of SEND pupils.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally within an educational setting.
2. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to support children with additional needs effectively.
3. Experience in providing intervention and group work for pupils with SEND.
4. A proactive, compassionate approach with a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students.
5. Ability to work well as part of a team, supporting both pupils and staff.
6. A passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
