We are currently looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team and manage our trade compliance and customs declarations.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and in full compliance with UK and international trade regulations.
Position Overview: Our Trade Compliance and Declarations Officerwill be responsible for ensuring the company adheres to all regulatory requirements for customs and international trade.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing trade compliance, customs declarations, import/export documentation, and ensuring that the company is operating in accordance with Northern Irelands trade laws and regulations post-Brexit.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the full customs declaration process, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
Review and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations concerning import/export and trade across various countries.
Prepare and submit customs declarations, including import/export documentation.
Ensure accurate classification of goods, tariff codes, and compliance with customs procedures.
Stay up-to-date with the latest changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and compliance guidelines, especially post-Brexit.
Manage and resolve any issues relating to customs clearances, including liaising with customs authorities.
Maintain a thorough record of all trade documents and declarations.
Assist in audits and ensure the company's trade compliance practices meet industry standards and governmental regulations.
Provide guidance to the management team on trade compliance risks and best practices.
Any other administrative jobs as required by senior management to assist other team members during busy periods.
Requirements: A minimum of 2 years' experience in trade compliance, customs declarations, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of UK, EU, and international customs regulations (post-Brexit understanding is a plus).
Experience with customs declaration systems and procedures.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
The person should be adaptable so they can assist with other employee roles as and when required.
A proactive attitude with the ability to solve problems independently.
Proficient in word, excel and data management .
A relevant qualification in international trade, logistics, or customs compliance (e.g., CILT, IATA) is preferred but not essential.
