Shaw Healthcare is recruiting a Residential Deputy Manager for Deerswood Lodge Care Home in Crawley to deliver a quality of care and support to our service users in line with our care principles of 'wellness, happiness, and kindness'. You will work together with your colleagues to ensure that the physical, social, psychological, and emotional needs of our service users are met.
Deerswood Lodge is a 90-bedded residential care home providing care for older people, including those with dementia.
Location: Ifield Green, Ifield, Crawley RH11 0HG
Salary: £40,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Main Responsibilities
Essential Skills & Duties of a Deputy Manager:
1. Good working knowledge of CIW/CQC standards and the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
2. Developing and implementing evidence-based individualised care packages, therapeutic interventions, and individualised activity programmes.
3. Leading and supervising the support and nursing teams to deliver the highest standards of person-centred care using clinical governance and their own personal development.
4. Familiarity with areas concerning sickness management, staff training and development, and coaching and mentoring, with effective communication with your team.
5. Ability to communicate and engage effectively with our service users, their families, and colleagues; good interpersonal and working relationship skills are essential.
6. Good understanding of the disabilities, health, and social care needs of service users and assisting those who have mobility or continence needs, using the appropriate aids and equipment.
7. Providing appropriate levels of care and support to ensure that personal hygiene needs are met (washing, dressing, bathing, using the toilet).
8. Health and Safety awareness to ensure the safety of our service users and colleagues.
The Ideal Candidate
1. QCF Level 3 or above.
2. Previous experience as a Deputy Manager.
3. Experience of supporting the elderly.
4. A strong knowledge of person-centred care.
5. Working closely with each resident, assessing their needs and delivering a care plan that helps each person to live a fuller life.
6. Providing the very best levels of care, ensuring that all procedures are carried out to the highest of standards, optimising the wellbeing of every resident.
