Red Sky are currently recruiting for a Firefighter at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. You will be responsible for carrying out Rescue and Firefighting duties, ensuring the effective use of equipment and resources in dealing with aircraft and other fire-related emergencies and incidents to preserve life, protect the environment and minimise damage to property. Respond to any medical emergencies within the boundaries and remit of LJLA. Responsibilities Provide instantaneous response to reported incidents on the airfield and Liverpool Airport property. Deploy at the scene of incidents and take action commensurate with training and in accordance with procedures to preserve life, protect the environment and minimise damage to property. Take all necessary action to ensure the safety of those involved in any incident and minimising any further risk people may face (including the administering of first aid) and damage to property Attend and deploy at operational incidents taking action as instructed and in accordance with procedure to minimise risk to people, environment and property. Undertake Watch Room duties by operating radio, telecommunication systems and equipment. Ensure at the scene of fire incidents that information is obtained and preserved. Comply with statutory, legal, regulatory, and relevant directions (e.g. EASA, CAP 699, NOG etc), including Fire Service training plans and other relevant training requirements (written and verbal). Maintain personal discipline to ensure that standards of performance and behaviour are maintained in accordance with the policy of LJLA and RFFS 'standards'. Familiarise and inform new RFFS employees in the procedures, working practices and duties of a firefighter. Clean, inspect, refuel, test, and assist in the maintenance of fire vehicles and equipment, including assisting the Crew Manager in the resolution of servicing and repairing equipment to an operational standard. Assist in runway and taxiway snow clearance duties when the LJLA is closed, including assisting engineering staff with snow clearance and de-icing duties. Undertake duties necessary to keep all areas of the fire station and its equipment clean and tidy. To assist with organised visits to the fire station. To assist in escorting of vehicles and persons across apron areas. Participate in demonstration drills as authorised by duty watch officers. To assist with special services and unforeseen circumstances when deemed safe and appropriate by the duty watch officers. Adhere to the LJLA and RFFS policy and procedures, as appropriate. Maintain the required RFFS medical and fitness standard. To act up to support the needs of RFFS category on an ad hoc basis once deemed as capable. Any other ad-hoc duties which may occur from time to time and are considered to be within the post holders' capability, to ensure business continuity. About you Qualifications CAA/EASA Firefighter qualified or equivalent. BA Wearer. UK Driving Licence. LGV 2 Licence. First Aid Qualified. Skills & Experience Previous operational experience at an Airport Fire and Rescue Service, or as a Local Authority Firefighter. Experience in leading and motivating. What's on offer?
