About the Role: Do you have a passion for helping children master phonics and supporting those with special educational needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Phonics Support Teaching Assistant to join the KS1 team in a primary school in Layton. This part-time role is ideal for someone with experience in a primary setting who is confident in providing tailored phonics support to pupils with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide phonics support to students in a classroom setting.
* Assist the teacher in planning and delivering engaging phonics lessons.
* Work with individuals or small groups of students to improve reading and phonics skills.
* Monitor and assess students' progress in phonics.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualized learning plans.
Requirements:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
* Previous experience working with children or young adults.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A calm and patient presence for supporting struggling children.
