Serco have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Supervisor Aircraft Engineer to join our team based at RNAS Culdrose located in Helston. This site is one of the Navy's two principal air bases, and one of the busiest military airfields in the UK. The Senior Supervisor is responsible for coordination of the aircraft team along with conducting fabrication and repair of aircraft components and/or structures on Merlin aircraft.,
* Responsible to the Serco Support Manager with respect to the structural repair of the Merlin aircraft or the components in accordance with the published procedures and instructions.
* Co-ordinate and supervise the team's day to day workload activities by allocating work as instructed by the Serco Support Manager.
* Complying with Serco's Quality Manual, HSE policy and all site regulations.
* To be authorised for third signature for own trade group.
* To support the Serco Support Manager in the operational performance of their team, whilst maintaining a compliant, efficient, and effective operation in line with contractual commitments and customer working procedures.
* Identify options to develop the customer base and provide our customers with innovative solutions and capability options to support their plans and business goals.
* Ensure team members retain currency to fulfil current roles.
* To have the ability to work a day's routine or a shift pattern in accordance with the Customer and operational requirements.
* Ensure the Serco Support Manager is made aware of all business risks.
* Ensure all verbal and written customer complaints and Quality issues are brought to the attention of the Serco Support Manager.
* Ensuring best practice and assurance of regulatory compliance by the utilisation of DASOR, Assure and any other reporting medium to capture and communicate findings and actions from engineering, safety and near miss events.
* Monitoring hazards and ensuring risks, and issues are identified and quantified.
Attained a Service Certificate of Competency (CoC) or successfully completed a local Serco Supervisory Management and Aircraft Documentation Course and CoC Board.
* Have a thorough understanding of rotary wing military (aviation) procedures.
* An understanding and proven experience of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance iaw Regulatory and Legislative requirements (MAA and MAOS).
* Previous supervisory experience and a thorough and good working knowledge of the following:
* Merlin Aircraft Engineering and Aircraft Systems (by Trade) - desirable.
* Merlin Aircraft Servicing and Support Equipment - desirable.
* Project Planning and Lean Operating Procedures.
* Naval Air Publications and Compound - Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (C-IETP) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) repair instructions. o Health and Safety, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, Tool Control and Quality Practices.
* Engineering and Asset Management Systems such as GOLDesp.
* Completed a Maintenance Human Factors Course.
* Excellent leadership and people management experience.
* An excellent capability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining operational output.
